It has probably have been asked but how do you decide what characters get their own ongoing series?  Esp ones who have had one and it was canceled.  Do you scope around to see who fans want to see or is it who you want?

Instinct is really the only explanation I can give you, combined with what creator might have what pitch for a new series starring a particular character, and how exciting and salable that sounds to us. Having a series cancelled is no indication that a character cannot carry a title necessarily–both HULK and X-MEN were cancelled early on, and clearly both of them came back stronger than ever with different creators and a different set of storylines.
