  • Hello Tom, I've always felt that the Marvel Universe being a shared universe was it's best feature. Characters have to inter-react with each other. Ex: you can't have Namor in Atlantis or Surfer in Space for extended stretches without meeting other characters or readers lose interest. l enjoy most of Marvel Now, but after a year I find a cold sterile feeling in many well done core titles such as Thor, Iron Man, Cap, etc. I know they appear in team books but their own books feel so isolated. I don’t know, i think that’s a matter of taste more than anything, and how well stories are executed wither they stick to their own corner of the Marvel Universe or interact heavily–good stories are god stories regardless. So for me, I don’t have any problem with CAP or THOR not interacting with the larger Marvel Universe all that much. It’s not as though Ed Brubaker’s CAP run did that very often either, or JMS’s THOR run.
