I do like that someone at Marvel creatively found a way to integrate the Yellow Claw with his antiquated racial baiting name without invalidating his old appearances. That kind of creativity dealing with old continuity is so exciting and so much more enjoyable than just ignoring old issues. Why isn't that kind of problem solving encouraged instead of just deciding "oh that issue never happened?"

We don’t typically go “oh, that issue never happened”–the closest we’ll come typically is just not to get into the stupid stuff of older stories. And the reason is that ultimately those types of reveals and turns reward long-time readers, but mystify newer readers. Doesn’t mean you can’t do stuff like that once in a while (and with the Yellow Claw, if you want to use him at all, you’re going to need to deal with the fact that he’s a truly offensive Asian caricature.)
