Tom, what was the reason for having Black Widow become totally unaware of all she had experienced with Bucky? As a fan of the pairing, I found it to be a truly dissatisfying conclusion to their story, and I doubt I am alone in that feeling. You take a lot away when you do it like that. Was this choice made so that a now very popular and in-demand Black Widow would have less story baggage moving forward?

Black Widow forgot because Ed Brubaker chose to have her forget. There wasn’t any particular consideration given to making Natasha less encumbered or anything–it was a decision based on the Winter soldier, not on the Black Widow.
