Is there ever a time when you guys create an alternate version of a character from the future or dimension and that character is so evil that it kind of ruins your or a readers opinion of the original? I havent felt that way for any marvel character the closest would be Dark Beast from AoA but no one else from Marvel, but i recently read a crime syndicate issue of justice league where in Ultramans origin Martha Kent is a junkie and Pa Kent beats her. That kind of destroyed them for me
Not really, I don’t think that’s possible, at least across the whole of the audience. Like you, individual readers may have this reaction, but to my experience not enough of them to make a difference to the core character. An alternate version is not the same thing.
