  • Marvel will only assign their big events to a select few "top" writers, but the Marvel movies feature a lot of risky choices in terms of casting and directing. That seems to have paid off, why not apply it to the books as well?. Just let your talent submit ideas and do events based on merit, not because someone sold well five years ago.

    We employ our biggest and best talent on our Events, which is what makes them what they are. And the stories in our Events are conceived and crafted by those individuals. So I think you’re coming at this question with some misapprehensions.
