  • This goes back to your first run on Avengers: what was the thinking behind redefining the Scarlet Witch's powers as a mutant power over magic (chaos or otherwise)? I took it that it was an attempt to avoid that awkward thing in some comics where she would switch from mutant power to witchcraft and back again, but that's just a guess. (It was fun to see the games with probability back again in Avengers Assemble #20, though I've also liked the games with magic sources in stuff like JLA/Avengers.)

    That was an attempt to make sense of Wanda’s backstory, nothing more. She began as a mutant and she clearly has the X-gene, so her powers have to be mutation-based. But later, she also studied actual sorcery under Agatha Harkness, so she draws on more than a single source.
