In all seriousness - when you say "you can’t simply ignore the stories you don’t like as though they hadn’t happened," this goes against other things you've said in the past, a lot of which goes under the general rubric of "if you don't like it, don't think about it, older bad comics shouldn't impact your ability to enjoy new good comics." In all seriousness, it's hard not to take from this that someone at the company still has a grudge against the Beyonder.

I don’t think you need to have a grudge against a character to feel like he’s a bit dopey. But in terms of the crux of your question, that’s certainly true in terms of your own personal enjoyment of the stories, but it goes out the window if you’re arguing about the content of those stories and the character’s established history. if there’s a story that says that a character cannot do something, or feats that we saw them accomplish were faked, that’s relevant to the discussion. And being angry about it and railing that the character “must” be able to do what you want or that people were “forced” to tell the story you didn’t like is pretty ineffective, and irrelevant. Whenever the time comes to do the next story of the character we’re going to take all of those events into account to whatever degree we think is best.
