I've been noticing more and more people being able to (or claiming to) name a writer just by reading the work. Engaging or not, is that a good or bad thing? Does that degree of distinction play into the quality of story telling?
It at least plays into the distinctiveness of the writer’s voice, and the fact that we try to allow our writers to be themselves and do what they do, rather than attempting to make them conform to a house style. And this is nothing new, going back decades you could typically tell a Chris Claremont story or a Peter David story or a Don McGregor story simply by reading a few pages, even without credits.
