  • How well do Young Avengers and New Warriors have to do in sales to make company look more kindly to new projects involving more teen books, like new volumes of Runaways, New X-Men or Avengers Academy? Is there even any connection between one and the other? I remember you mentioning it's always considered if pitched series will sell and I assume if two teen books sell, then it makes new teen projects (especially ones with already estabilished fandoms) look better in editor's eyes.

What would’ve made it more likely would have been better sales for RUNAWAYS, NEW X-MEN or AVENGERS ACADEMY, at least by the end of their respective tenures. I don’t know that YOUNG AVENGERS or NEW WARRIORS selling especially well would make us any more or less likely to try one of those other books again. (And if we did, it’s likely that it wouldn’t quite be the series you remember, much as the new NEW WARRIORS series isn’t exactly any of its predecessors either.)

Reading Brevoorts tumblr is like reading H.P. Lovecraft - slowly you start realizing nothing you do will ever matter....

This is why we can’t have nice things. “Your fandom is doomed and there’s nothing you can do about it.”
