I’ve seen you put up several posts lately with people complaining over their preferred young mutants not being put to use. To me, it seems the nature for the younger generation to be replaced by new students over time, just like you won’t have the same crowd forever as sophomores in high school. Gen X took the place of the original New Mutants, Yost’s group took the place of Gen X and now those from WatXM and UXM have taken the place of Yost’s crew.
I can see how fans might be frustrated if they’ve formed a particular attachment to one of them. I can relate with not seeing much of Dani any more, or Dust – both of whom I really liked. However, books centered around teens ARE out there. Yelling for some of the teens to replace older, iconic characters, like I’ve seen people do, doesn’t make much sense. As much as I like X-23, she isn’t a Wolverine replacement. Hope isn’t a stand in for Jean and Pixie isn’t a substitute for Illyana or Nightcrawler.
I just wanted to say I’m enjoying reading about Evan, Quire, Broo and Idie in WatXM as well as Tempus, Goldballs and Hijack in UXM. I hope Aaron and Bendis keep up the good work with the latest generation!
