It's strange to me that there's an X-crossover concurrent with Infinity. Every few years, there's an attempt to better integrate the X-Men into the larger Marvel U (LIke AvX, for example), so the X-Men's part in Infinity being confined to quick panels in New Avengers while the X-titles do their own insular thing as usual during a big event seems odd. I take it you guys don't see it that way? This isn't to slight BoTA, really just questioning its timing.

I don’t really see it that way, no, any more than the fact that there isn’t an IRON MAN tie-in or a THOR tie-in makes INFINITY less relevant to that end of the MU. But every creative team has its own stories that it wants to tell, and you don’t get anything but crummy stories out of making people participate in an Event if they don’t want to. There are still some X-related INFINITY tie-ins to come, but those exist because the folks working on those books, creators and editors alike, wanted to play. But INFINITY is a much more Avengers-centric story by virtue of the simple fact that the person who writes AVENGERS and NEW AVENGERS is writing it, and so has the greatest investment in it.
