  • I think a limited series about one of the many characters people have been wanting a limited series or solo for are more likely to sell better and be better received than a limited series that ties into an event. People are unlikely to pick up four issues where a character they love plays a tiny part as opposed to four issues where a character they love is the main focus.

    We did a bevy of limited series focusing on many different characters that people said they wanted to see in their own books, and they performed poorly. The hardcore fans of a particular character don’t necessarily represent the will of the readership as a whole. I keep picking on poor Pixie, because she was mentioned at one point–but we did a PIXIE limited series, it was a nice piece of work, and it sold crummy. So we are being savvier and more selective when it comes to putting out projects in that format.
