  • Do you think that Scarlet Witch and Vision are still held back by their past? Most current readers won't remember the short lived suburban New Jersey version of them and older readers will have nostalgia for their long lineage.

A little bit maybe. As with many romance stories, the consummation of the romance is less interesting to the audience than the chase, the quest. Just think about when the last time that either the Vision or Wanda were really vital, vibrant characters in the eyes of the readership. Even though they’ve not been together for a decade and a half, they’re still considered by most people in the same breath: The Vision and the Scarlet Witch, like one name. That’s not to say that new and interesting stuff can’t be done with them, but we’re certainly past the point where they can ever again be new and exciting characters–they can be established and exciting characters if treated correctly, but it can be harder to make the audience care about long-time characters that they’ve already written off in their minds.
