Tom, what are you talking about? I have very rarely seen anything negative said about the Simonson Thor's recoloring or other recoloring like Dark Horse did with old Marvel Conan reprints. I've seen plenty of praise, though, and as you well know, the vocal majority are always the angry and entitled ones that do nothing but bitch loudly online, yet they weren't complaining.
I think this has everything to do with where you happen to go and what posts and boards and so forth you happen to read. There are plenty of readers, particularly older ones, who get very upset whenever we recolor and update just about anything in a modern style. Maybe I get to see them more readily than you do because they send these missives to us–but I assure you, they are out there.
