Do you realize that men dying in comic books and women dying in comic books is a total false equivalence, as in, please see Women in Refrigerators? People aren't looking for something to be upset about, they're upset because comic books are once again using the death of a female character to provide drama for a male character, which is an overwhelming pattern in these stories.
I hear what you’re saying, and you feel the way you feel, but I think you’re coming close at this point to complaining about the very nature of stories, especially adventure stories. By their very nature, there is going to be jeopardy and there are going to be people who get hurt. Like anything, this can be done well or this can be done poorly–but I don’t think the solution would be to ban the death of any female character (or any character of any particular demographic type, fill-in-the-blank with your own cause.)
