I asked Ryan Penacos, and he said he thought you might know, therefore I ask, "So, I have heard that pre-orders are the most important factor in keeping books alive and Comixology now has digital subscriptions (yay!) and I'm wondering if digital subscriptions count when you're examining your preorder numbers?" Just to make clear, I don't have the space/housekeeping/travel time to buy print, but I've got 8 digital subs (would be 9 if Mighty Avengers were on Comixology, yet. D:)
