Tom, I think it's rather reductive to say that a reader purchases "the ability to read the story" in the cases of both print & digital. With print, foul play (such as theft) and paper decomposition are the only ways outside influences may infringe on that ability. With digital a reader is beholden to the Marvel/Comixology relationship remaining strong, to Comixology staying in business, etc. I agree that each format has its advatanges, but I'm still wary about going digital in this regard.
That’s entirely your choice, though. But we’re not going to limit what avenues we use to get our stories to the reading public because some people may have issues with them. That’s why you can read the same material in other ways that may appeal to you more.
