  • Tom, I've wanted to start writing my own graphic novel and I'm at very early stages of developing the idea. I keep running into bumps with character motivations. I feel like a new detective on his first day in the SVU division, and i keep having these solutions that seem to change the entire theme of what I'm writing. Should I give up? Keep re-working? Is there a solution to this? I know the story I want to tell and the message that should be in it... I can't seem to get the pieces aligned right

The only thing you can do is work your way through it. And also be open to new avenues that thinking things through may take you down.
