When assigning artists to books, so you factor in how divisive that artist might be? I mean, I was a fan of Land back in his CrossGen days, but I know many feel the same way that other guy does about Land on Mighty. It's a divisive artist on a book with a concept that, it has been suggested in the past, could alienate some readers, which doesn't seem like a recipe for success...

When I cast any book, I take everything into account, and line up the best and most appropriate people that I can, the ones most likely to bring that mojo that will make a project successful. For all that a bunch of people online rail against Greg’s work for whatever reason, it continues to sell well, he knows how to tell a story, and he’s a steady producer. So he’s going to give me a very attractive, very consistent MIGHTY AVENGERS series, and that’s what I’m after. If you don’t care for Greg’s work and that keeps you away, that’s fine–I’m betting that the silent majority of the readership doesn’t feel the same way that you might.
