Do you think Johnny would have figured out what was wrong with Spider-Man by now if he weren't lost in space and time? That seems like it would be the hardest relationship for Doc Ock to fake.
I suppose it’s possible, but one of the advantages that Doc Ock has is that it’s simply not natural to suspect that somebody you know has had their mind replaced by somebody else–even in a world with super heroes.
