  • Tom, why are comics lettered in all capitals?

    Because the printing of comics and newspapers in the early days was shaky enough that printing in all caps increased the likelihood of legibility, and over time it simply became the industry standard. But not all comics are done all caps, the Ultimate books, for example, use upper/lower.

    6. strikeromega said: One thing I always found amusing was that when crossovers occur, you sometimes see variations in the typeface. Hunger, for instance, has Galactus talking in all caps while everybody else is in upper/lower.
