I live in South America, so, to read comics the day they are released, I have to buy digital. I don't understand, though: why do we have to spend the same amount of money as those who buy physical copies if we're only buying the right to read that comic, and not an actual copy of it? I mean, the 3,99 price is justified for print because of the printing costs, how that copy may become more valuable with time, and the fact that you own it. If Comixology goes bankrupt, though, we lose all our money

What you are purchasing in any iteration is the ability to read the story, to consume the content. Everything else is merely the delivery mechanism, and needn’t factor in. And each format has its advantages as well as its disadvantages, such as the fact that your digital copies take up absolutely no physical space, and are infinitely more portable than your tangible books in quantity.
