Was reading the first few issues of the Richard Rider Nova series from a few years back and it struck me how much his alienation from the Marvel Universe resonated with me. Was he supposed to be the voice of the Marvel fans who felt shut out during the Civil War/ Siege era or was it just coincidence?

I think he was meant to be the voice of the character first and foremost, but it’s not surprising that there would be readers who felt as he did, and quite possible that the writers steered into that specifically.
