I don't have a problem with you changing her hair; women (including black women) change their hair all the time. But implying that her previous hairstyle isn't something you see regularly in 2013 comes off as out of touch and kind of insensitive.

    I’m sorry, but anybody who’s offended because we gave Monica Rambeau a new haircut isn’t somebody I can worry about. Human beings cut their hair, and change their styles. Nothing insensitive about it–it’s not a statement regarding anybody who may choose to have their own hair styled in a similar way to what’s changed.
