I want to begin by thanking you for answering questions in this format, especially given the vitriol you have to deal with. I did want to go back to the 13 year idea for Marvel. I have no problem with the concept, but it seems some characters seem substantially older. I am specifically thinking of Cyclops who seems well over 30. Do the writers and editors try to de-mature characters or do you just say some youngins are world weary?
Everything involving the passage of time in the Marvel Universe is by necessity fluid. It’s not science, which is why it’s a waste of time trying to figure out how many real years equate to a Marvel year–it doesn’t work that consistently. Within that, we try to keep the characters true to themselves. And given everything that Cyclops has been through in his 28-or-so years of life, sure.
