  • Tom, why are Stan Lee's works so praised? I mean, sure, dude had some great ideas and came up with cool characters, but his actual stories and his writing were sub-par even compared to other things in the 60s...

    I think it’s sometimes difficult for people who come to a world after a revolution has happened to truly understand how revolutionary it was, and how much everything changed. Stan’s work on the early Marvel comics is absolutely like that. We would not have the industry we have today–or likely any industry at all–if he and the artists he worked with hadn’t done the things they did.
