  • Tom, I don't want this to be seen as anything against you, but do you ever wonder if maybe comics editors have too low of a turnover? Like, it seems weird to me that the person who okay'd the Norman Osborn/Gwen Stacy children is still working and helping develop ideas for other books. Clearly you guys have all edited and helped develop some real stinkers over the years...

    You could say the same thing about any other entertainment media. How many lousy films came out this year? How many bad television shows? How many crummy novels? Art isn’t science, there isn’t a formula for making it work. And if you fired everybody every time a story got done that you didn’t like, what you’d end up with is a crew of amateurs, without any experience, and more likely to not get it right as often. A bad story is a bad story, but nobody died, nobody got hurt. There are genuine problems in the world, but this really doesn’t seem like one of them.
