If you're being sincere when you say "this is art, not science". You also say "we do better when we ship more" (with your existing audience, sure), but that would be economics, not art.

Well, we’re a business–to stay in business, we need to generate a certain amount of revenue. That’s a reality. Plus, can you remember any series that shipped less often than once a month that didn’t have its scores of fans irately complaining about the fact that it didn’t ship more often? Comics fans want their books monthly or more.
