I think the best analogy I can give you is that it’s like the Captain and the XO on a ship. Axel as EIC is the Captain, he deals with the macro, with all of the books in a broad sense, in strategizing initiatives, in recruiting talent, in promoting what we’re doing, and everything in-between. He sets the tone and the style. The one thing he doesn’t do is edit books directly. I perform similar functions as a consiglieri, but I’m more focused on boots-on-the-ground aspects of keeping the publishing division operating. And I personally edit more than a half-dozen titles every month as well.
