On female-lead books, it's more complicated than us not buying it; each is a different situation. Wood's X-Men is brilliant and enjoys the prestige of the name it carries; Captain Marvel is really good, but there isn't much official publicity to stimulate sales; Uncanny X-Force and Fearless Defenders, though they have some fanbase, are titles that everyone was looking forward to, but were disappointed (general consensus) by problems with the art and/or the writing, that seems to lead nowhere.

You can say the same about books of any stripe, though. These conditions aren’t endemic to female-lead series. And still, it all comes down to you guys either buying them or not. I’m not saying that you should be buying something that you don’t like, but on the other hand, if books of a type you want constantly fail, that makes it more difficult to keep doing books of that type. So it’s a big thorny knot–and again, not one that’s limited to just female-lead series.
