We’ve been doing it for almost seventy-five years now, I think we’ll be fine. But saying that we shouldn’t publish so many books about our popular characters and instead focus on our less popular characters on the chance that one of them could become more popular is tantamount to asking us to turn the lights out and lock the doors. You guys as the paying audience determine what we do based on what you do–what you support with your dollars and your feet. If we do a lot of Wolverine or Iron Man material, and not as much Quasar or Anole material, it’s because you guys have shown that, en masse, you’re much more likely to spend your money and your time on stories about those characters. And the truth is that we do both–which is why you have so many less-popular characters to lament–but it’s a fact of life that most other characters are not going to catch on to the level of a Wolverine or an Iron Man, and you can’t force the audience, you guys, to like a character.
