New Avengers has been flawless in concept, design, story, and art. Great job by all. And while I've also been enjoying Avengers, it has felt a little loose in areas. That is, until Nick Spencer came onboard. Was this a planned collaboration, or was Spencer brought in more in the way an alternate penciler might be, to alleviate workload?

Nick was brought in once INFINITY was created, as it added an immense amount of work to Jonathan’s already-overtaxed burden. So working with Nick on those issues was one way of trying to alleviate some of the pressure–yes, very much like an alternate penciler being brought in, but in this case working with the regular penciler.
