Why do you think there's such a resistance within the industry for a characters to hit 30? After they've been around so long it just doesn't make sense to me that Storm, Scott, Emma, Beast, Scarlet Witch etc are under 30.

I think that you tend to forget just how old 30 is to somebody who is 10 or 11–that seems positively ancient. So while I can understand that as a particular audience gets older themselves, there’s a desire for the characters to grow with them, but that’s a bit self-defeating. The next generation deserves to get a Storm, Scott, Emma, etc in just as pristine a condition as you did when you started reading about them.
