I heard that Jim Shooter thought Spider-Woman emmasculated Spider-Man so he tried to get rid of her by trying to kill her off and then making her fade into obscurity, is there any truth to it or is it yet another anti-Shooter rumor?

I don’t think there’s anything to this. Her original series ended when Jm was Editor in Chief, but the story that brought her back was also published when he was the EIC. There’s no evidence for it that I can see.
