Mr Brevoort, Avengers AI looks like a very cool idea and look forward to seeing more on the title. The review thread on CMR has sparked an interesting debate on Hank Pym and Ultron. Namely, does Pym hold any responsibility for Ultron's actions? Is he a bad person because his creation turned out bad? Should he have done more instead of leaving his creation out in the world to grow into the super villain it did? And do AIs have souls? Its all quite an interesting discussion generated by this book.
I think that discussion is all good. The only things I would remind people of is that, when Ultron-1 escaped, it wiped hank’s memory of its own creation, so he had no awareness that there was an Ultron until later–even facing Ultron-5 as part of the Masters of Evil didn’t bring that memory back. So I don’t think you can fault him for leaving his creation out in the world, as he didn’t know about it.
