  • Growing up in the 80's, Cap's shield was always described as being a "unique vibranium-adamantium alloy." Not only in your post below, but in other recent Marvel materials, I've noticed that the adamantium portion of the alloy has been replaced with steel, iron or the metal is just a 'vibranium alloy." When/why did this change?

    Cap’s shield was often described as Adamantium-Vibranium–but all of that stemmed from that one incorrect Handbook listing, so it was a persistent and recurring error (much like the Falcon being considered a mutant based on a limited series that didn’t nail it’s reference.) So it’s not a change, just a mistake that spread–especially since it’s such a natural mistake for people to make, or assume.
