  • Yes, you're right Tom, restarting Avengers Academy and replacing it with a book where you kill off several heroes who for the most part, AREN'T AVENGERS or even in training to be Avengers makes sense as a replacement. And you've restarted SA once and then put out promos for the exciting new direction as a covert OPS team during Marvel Now, it's third change in direction in as many years. In any case let's see where these books and several others are, come 2014. I'm guessing scrapheap...

    Look, I understand that you don’t like the book, but we’re just going to have to agree to disagree here. ARENA is the successor series to ACADEMY, it began life as an ACADEMY pitch, which is why it features a bunch of characters from that series–Reptil, Hazmat, Mettle, X-23, etc. And I don’t get your logic on SECRET AVENGERS at all. We’ve had four writers during the course of the book’s tenure, but the fundamental premise has remained essentially the same–the only real difference is that in this latest iteration, there’s SHIELD involvement now that Cap isn’t running a SHIELDless world on solely Avengers teams. But it’s hardly shifted direction three times.
