"a story written by five writers that none of them wanted to write, featuring a character that none of them were interested in using more" Wow, if writers only focus on characters they really WANT to focus on, how much of a coincidence is it that pretty much every major X-Men writer in the past 7 or 8 years has been as Cyclops and Summers family obsessed as Lowe and Alonso? What kind of luck is that?

There were eight people in that room, five writers and three editors. The sum total of the number of people who wanted Rachel Summers to be a central player in the series was zero. There wasn’t any argument, no spirited debate or intense discussion. Absolutely nobody was vying for Rachel to be a more prominent character in AVX. So there you go.
