As a fellow Flash fan; what's your thoughts on the lack of Wally West? Does this bog down your reading experience? Or are you a long-time Barry fan? I personally have always found him flat and I think Manapul's more interested in his Rogue's than him, which is a shame because he needs a restructuring.

This is a bit of a loaded question for me, in that there’s so little that’s appealing to me personally about the current DC line that it’s difficult to separate things out. I’m as much a Barry fan as a Wally fan, he was the Flash when I started reading and for more than a decade, so he’s fine with me. But that said, I feel that bringing him back was one of a number of blunders that hit that series over the last few decades–not because you couldn’t make it work, but because it didn’t. It felt and feels like a nostalgia play coupled with an attempt to duplicate the success of the return of Hal Jordan, only in this case it somehow didn’t fire quite right. As much as I love Barry, the work done on Wally made him a much more interesting character, especially for a modern audience, and gave him a unique position within the DCU. On the other hand, with a rebooted universe that’s only meant to be five years old, there likely isn’t room for a Wally that maintains the very history that makes him interesting. So I think the real trick here would be to work more diligently in making Barry more interesting. (And don’t even get me started on whoever that is in TEEN TITANS…)
