When planning an event like AvX, shouldn't the story dictate what characters are involved not the personal preferences of writers? Rachel was the Phoenix for over 10 years. She lost that name to become Mother Askani and one of the most important people in Cable's life. Yet, in a story focusing on the Phoenix and Cable's daughter, she's barely a factor? Aren't editors responsible for looking out for the bigger story arcs and continuity?
You’re clearly a Rachel Summers fan who is disappointed that she wasn’t more involved in AVX. So let me turn this around on you: how much do you think you would have enjoyed a story written by five writers that none of them wanted to write, featuring a character that none of them were interested in using more? I don’t know about you, but that doesn’t sound like the recipe for a classic story to me.
