  • Even though I'm a huge Scarlet Witch fan who never liked Cyclops, there's one thing I, and many others, haven't understood: why does she get a free pass and he doesn't, when they both killed people when not in complete control of themselves? Is it because of politics? Because the Avengers feel guilty for not noticing sth was wrong with Wanda? Because Cap is in love with her, but not with Cyclops? It just seems like it's such an oversight that this discrepancy isn't addressed in the comics...

I would have to say that there are a number of factors in play here that you’re perhaps not looking at (or choosing not to consider.) Wanda didn’t get a free pass, she went through years of stories dealing with this, and she’s both back in command of her faculties and repentant for what she’s done. Cyclops, on the other hand, is leading what looks on the surface to be the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants on a crusade for revolution. He’s pretty clearly not repentant, and is actively following a course of action in opposition to other characters.
