New Brevoort Formspring

While I suppose Marvel should get some credit for Living Lightning being revealed as gay, why is it that almost always the gay characters are second and third tier heroes? Would've been cool if Ultimate Iron Man or Ultimate Wolverine were gay. Those are characters who didn't have a lot of history that you could've easily portrayed in a different vein than their 616 counterparts.
