Tom, I often get asked if John Byrne will ever come back to Marvel. Usually the person asking references either yourself or Brian Michael Bendis reblogging so much of John's art as "proof" something must be in the works. If I understand past statements correctly, John is welcome to contact Marvel if he wants work but Marvel wouldn't pursue him. Could you give an answer in your Tumblr so I don't have to speak for either side?
John has made it very clear over the last decade that he’s got little use for the Marvel (and the DC) of today–everybody is well aware of this. So we respect his position on the matter. Were he to have a change of heart, we’d be happy to hear from him. But we’re not going to spend a lot of time trying to convince a guy who obviously does not like us that he should be doing work for us–there’s very little percentage in it. There are plenty of people here at Marvel (and I assume at DC) who’d love to work with John, but John has to want to do it first.
