I know that anthology titles have a tendency not to sell all that well, but I've always wondered - wouldn't some sort of anthology be the best way to get Marvel back onto newsstands and supermarket checkout counters, the way I've heard more than a few professionals wish they could be? It seems to me that a magazine containing (as an example) one or two original stories, a reprint of a classic tale, and promo material could be a fine gateway to bring in readers to keep the customer base growing.

There is no way back onto the newsstands and supermarket checkout counters. As anybody who’s in magazine publishing will tell you, that field is cratering, and the desire to get back to it is fueled partly by memory and partly by misunderstanding the world of the 21st Century in which we now live. In 2013, digital and collected editions are the newsstand.
