We hire writers not based on their ethnicity or background, but based on their writing. And possibly it’s become a self-fulfilling prophesy, but it seems like there are fewer writers of talent that are interested in writing the sort of material that Marvel does and have had the opportunity to prove it who are women or non-whites or whatever. But it does mean that there’s potentially an opportunity for a creator who has a strong voice and point of view and the skills to put it over. That all said, the cheap shot at Kelly Sue is really beneath you–like everybody else who works here, we hired her based on her ability, not on her family tree. Especially given what you’re proselytizing for, it’s counter-productive to be jealous of somebody who’s found their way in.
