Come on now, it’s great that you love those particular characters, but this is hardly the first time in their publishing history that they’ve not been in a book. The New mutants don’t get favored nations status, wherein when one appears they all have to appear–that’s just nutty. In terms of Cable and X-Man, it’s really just a choice of the people working on the book. After X-SANCTION, had we done more with him, Jeph Loeb and I had talked about amping Cable up in a big way, but we didn’t end up doing that story, and other people should be allowed to tell the story that they want to tell.
