Tom, Marvel has kinda side-stepped it by saying Angela's new design is homage to her old one where it would change multiple times an issue, but no one has answered why you GUYS thought it was okay to dress her up in a metal bikini? Even Gaiman has made comments about it being a design in poor taste. So why not save face and give her a real outfit?
I think the comments you refer to pretty much cover it. This is Angela’s first appearance in the Marvel Universe, so it makes sense for her to look as much as possible like the classic Angela that people remember from those stories Neil wrote in the past. Moving forward, it’s always possible that we’ll change the look–we do like to give characters new costumes, after all.
