I agree that race or sexuality or gender shouldn't be altered cavalierly. That's why things like Johnny Storm/Heimdall annoy me. I just don't think that's the way to bringing about equal representation. If there's a problem with representation(and there is) why not implement a policy that all brand new characters for year can't be hetrosexual white christian men unless there's a story reason? Personally as a gay man I don't want an estalished character to be changed to gay for a headline.
