JUST AN OPINION

I wrote this so you have some constancy of some things, I really love this character (Amora the Enchantress, that I can be a little exaggerated for repeating myself a bit? true, I admit, that is devotion and make it strange that I like very much this character? maybe, but I am completely convinced that I am not the only person who thinks so. I love Marvel and I’m really enjoying the most of Marvel books, very well written and drawn and many of them I’m Following quite enthusiastically.

When I talk about it, I try to argue some things, that almost everything I say sounds like a complaint, it is true, but the fact is that for years watching the evolution of the character, I have concluded that it is too little, minuscule and never has deepened and have tried to make things more interesting, as there are too many plot holes that have never tried to cover up and have been left there.

It is strange that in 49 years of life that has the character since his first appearance in 1964 like the Black Widow who clearly has had more luck and is better known because clearly many writers have really cared for her and make her more relevant, in the case of the Enchantress, is too small this relevance to the point that a few Thor writers have attempted to do something different with her, in the end, always is turning over the same things over and over again and very little or nothing to show details about her past, origin, interaction with other characters, characterizations … as I realized, the only relevant thing I’ve seen of her is her real name (Amora) and the fact that is known she have a younger sister named Lorelei, and more that it is rarely shown as one of the most powerful sorceresses in the Marvel Universe and of all Marvel female villains, she was the first femme fatale, which change much the stereotype of women comparing with other Marvel heroines on the 60s, strong woman, dominant, proud, incredibly beautiful and very seductive.

The thing is that clearly if someday if is explained Amora the Enchantress and Lorelei Origin, there is No RETCON or REBOOT because it had never been explained before and actually it would be the first time. This can be an advantage because there is not a previous story and actually could be done without too much trouble and making occasional reference to her enmity with the Valkyrie, her first encounter with Skurge the Executioner, her first crush with Thor, her learning with Karnilla the Norn-Queen or her alliances since her adolescence with Loki.

Besides all the development and evolution that they  would have, knowing at last what kind of persons were their unknown parents centuries ago when Lorelei was not more than a little girl and her sister Amora, a teenager who had just begun her studies of witchcraft (her seduction skills would be something that she had inherited from her mother), her whole relationship with her older sister or details of her personality that perhaps could help her to redeem herself and become one of the best queens of Asgard of all times.

Considering what is genetics, clearly her father could be a red-haired man of green eyes (would be good if he is a Fallen Hero from other times) and her mother, a blonde woman with blue eyes, hence the idea of the first question I asked on Tumblr to make a kind of connection with Sylvie Lushton, the young teen girl from Broxton transformed by the magic of Loki and create a sort of cycle that guarantee the existence of both two sisters (Amora and Lorelei) and the meaning and origin of what is to be the Enchantress sending Sylvie to Asgard past to assume her destiny and be Amora and Lorelei´s mother).

A Possible Reappearance of Lorelei plus her adaptation to the new situation of Asgard and if possible develop the character to the point of … why not? Being the New Queen of Asgard (a situation that would be good to have a long duration) or the encounter between Amora and Sylvie Lushton and a future Master-Student relationship may improve the vision of the character that many people could have and perhaps a good way of redemption for her.

As I’ve said in the past, it’s clear that you love the character. And sure, there are other people who like here (though perhaps none to the degree that you do). But I think when you start talking about how strange it is that more people haven’t done more stories about here, you’re being a bit selective in what you’re looking at. Compared to, say, the Iron Man villain Kala who was introduced at around the same time, the Enchantress has had dozens of additional appearances, and been developed far more. The thing is, at least so far, none of our creators has evidenced the same passion for the character–especially as a lead character–that you have. Doesn’t mean that you’re wrong to feel the way that you do, but it does mean that it’s not strange in the slightest that there aren’t tons of stories devoted to her and her backstory and so forth. The goals that you’re striving to achieve are simply not a priority for us–we’ve got 9000+ characters in our back-catalogue, and not all of them can be headliners. There may come a day when somebody has a great story that investigates the Enchantress’ past, or that brings her back in a big way. Or there may not.
